时间的重要性：时间是构成生命的源泉，每一个人的生命是有限的，属于一个人的时间也是有限的，若一个人的生命到了人生的顶端，那么这个人生活的时间也将结束了。人与时间有着密切的联系。
时间，是物质的永恒运动、变化的持续性、顺序性的表现，包含时刻和时段两个概念。时间是物理学中的七个基本物理量之一。
时间是人类用以描述物质运动过程或事件发生过程的一个参数，确定时间，是靠不受外界影响的物质周期变化的规律。
以地球自转为基础的时间计量系统称为世界时系统。时、日、月、年、世纪的时间计量属天文学中的历法范畴。

Our life is nothing more than our time. To kill time is therefore a form of suicide.
译文：我们的生命就是我们的时间，因此浪费时间也就是一种自杀。
We are shocked when we think of death, and we spare no pains, no trouble, and no expense to
preserve life. But we are too often indifferent to the loss of an hour or of a day, forgetting that our life is
the sum total of the days and of the hours we live.
